| This past week has been a great deal of fun! My godfather Steve’s kids are awesome and I’m glad I got to come visit them again while I was here. Since the kids were on their spring break, most of the days were fairly relaxed, although we did visit Chartwell and London (twice). We’d walk the dog, mess about on the trampoline (I didn’t squash anyone), watch or play a bit of football, do some gardening, read, or do homework. One day we attempted to make dinner and another day we made extremely sweet American-style lemonade (my fault: too much sugar). While I was there, I read Wolf of the Plains by Conn Iggulden (which is the first book I’ve read for fun in a very long time) and I must say it was very good. It is a historical fiction novel on Genghis Khan’s childhood and it was fascinating to read about life on the plains of Mongolia. |
I learned a lot about planes, as Steve's son is going to be a commercial airline pilot some day. He's only 12, but I know for a fact he's smart enough to be able to do whatever he wants when he grows up. I also found out that Steve’s eldest daughter liked photography, so I taught her a little bit about how to use aperture and shutter speed, etc.
I just want to take this time to thank them profusely for having me to stay and putting up with me for a week! I had a great time and I’m going to miss them all very much!!
