Children at Chartwell

I had a great day out with my "godfamily" today! My godfather Steve brought myself and his kids to Chartwell, Winston Churchill's home in Kent. I had a great time, not the least because I got to spend time with kids I've essentially adopted as my siblings. They're also extremely photogenic, so we enjoyed messing around with "poses" as if they were part of a photo shoot!

We brought a football (soccer ball) and the girls did some gymnastics in the field on a massive hill at the back of the house. While waiting to go into the house we set up goals and Sam took shots on goal. The dad from the young family next to us joined in with some crosses and it turned out that he was an officer in the British Army whose wife was from Columbia, South Carolina!

I wasn't allowed to take pictures in the house, but it had a really unique feel to it. The whole house was full of Churchill's paintings, and my favorite rooms were the ones with his old uniforms, formal robes, and decorations. I really enjoyed my afternoon out and I loved spending time with the kids who we have determined are my "godsiblings"!
